Bullying can take many forms including:
- physical assault
- teasing
- making threats
- name calling
- cyber bullying
Bullying can happen anywhere: at school, travelling to and from school, in sports teams, between neighbours or in the workplace. Bullying is very upsetting for people and some feel they can’t cope. If this becomes the case, speak with someone you trust and feel you can speak to for advice.
Counselling therefore helps the person understand what is happening and how to cope. Looking at assertiveness techniques in teaching the client how to confidently express their rights in an open and honest way and also using CBT allowing the person to alter their thought pattern.
